About Laura
 Laura Novak is the owner of Laura Novak Photography, a photography boutique and studio located in Wilmington, Delaware. In the past four years Laura has taken a small part time business that she ran out of her home into a thriving studio storefront that employs three full time employees and four part time freelancers and assistants photographing 50 weddings and 120 portraits a year. Laura has spent her career as a photographer developing a unique artistic style that has become known throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and has been published in numerous magazines including Martha Stewart Weddings, People Magazine, Elegant Bride, Professional Photographer, USA Today and Glamour.
Over her years as a photographer, Laura received hundreds of emails from photographers who were struggling with business side of photography. Many of them were interested in how Laura achieved such a high level of success in a short period of time. As a result, Laura began offering advice and speaking at various photography conventions and seminars around the country and from there, Strategy Avenue was born. Strategy Avenue LLC is an educational organization dedicated to improving the business skills of professional and aspiring photographers. Through a series of interactive modules and informative blog postings, photographers can learn the essential skills to help start, run, and grow a successful photography business.
Prior to operating a photography studio, Laura held several positions as a business consultant; first for a public agency and then as an internal consultant for a large privately held company in the Boston area. Throughout this experience, Laura learned the ins and outs of a variety of different business units within the organizations and came to the realization that no matter how big, or how small, it is essential for companies of all sizes to acquire foundational business skills. After successfully applying the principles she learned as a consultant to her own company, Laura has decided to offer this information to others in the form of e-learning courses, seminars and individual consultations. Laura's fiancé, John, is a regular contributor to the Strategy Avenue blog and assists with product inquiries on evenings and weekends.
